Results
This is another example of how The Wu Project can collaborate with another non-profit organization. The Journey of the Heart of Children had organized a spiritual pilgrimage trip to Peru, the last days of the trip were dedicated to restoring a remote rural school that had no resources. The building was in dire conditions; roofs needed changing, all rooms needed painting and fixing, and the children needed a safe place to play. During these days, our group plus several local people worked nonstop to fix the school. The Children’s foundation was able to raise the funds to purchase a playground set and install it. How happy the children were when they saw what we were setting up!
The Wu Project’s team was able to provide a day of therapy and teachings of Self Care techniques. Peru had been hit hard in the COVID-19 Pandemic, the lock down was severe, many people had lost their live hood and their lives, they also had lost an inordinate number of school teachers. There was high stress in the population going through controversial national elections and still with restrictions in place due to the pandemic. And we saw that reflected in the participants in the Health Day Clinic.
The Wu Project team also stablished relationships for a future project in the area.
