The Wu Project team returned to Xela seven months after the first training. During this hiatus, we kept in touch with the student using the very effective What’s ap group that we had established in the last class. Through the app, the students asked questions about cases and communicated among themselves. They also organized study and practice sessions.

Sixteen students returned to the training and demonstrated through presentation of case studies how well they understood the teachings. They all have been very active providing therapies for their communities. They have started to gain a reputation that in some cases proved uncomfortable: a couple of students had been labeled “witches” due to the ignorance of the people about the techniques and philosophy of the traditional Chinese medicine. And people are afraid of what they don’t know. But more and more people are asking for their help.

We welcomed back 3 of our students from Quiche and Chiapas, they took the class again and serve as teacher assistants reinforcing their skills and connecting with this other community of Wu Health Care Promoters.

As a future goal, we intend to train graduated students in The Wu Project curriculum to become local trainers.

This part of the curriculum was especially interesting for them since we worked with Gynecology and deep-seated trauma. They recognize the value of this new perspective and embraced it.
